This project helps to open the black box of CEOs and clarify how the CEO’s personality influences the leader’s ability to successfully deal with a crisis. The initial results suggest that when leaders engage in leader behaviors which are in contrast to their typical regulatory focus (i.e., when CEOs with law promotion focus engage in recognizing behaviors) employees report a greater level of crisis leadership than when a CEO behaves in a way that would be expected from him/her in normal times.
